WEEE and WBA, Levels of knowledge, opinions and behaviours

WEEE emergency, too many in Italians’ homes.

Research carried out by IPSOS for Erion shows that 81% of Italians keep an electronic appliance they no longer use, while 61%, even if broken, do not throw it away.

Moreover, 55% say they have used batteries in their homes.

In addition, young people (aged 18 to 26) have lower levels of knowledge about Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Waste Batteries and Accumulators (WBA), 40% throw their mobile chargers into the general waste bag, street bin or the container for the plastic.

This is what emerges from the research “WEEE & WBA. Levels of knowledge, opinions and behaviours. What do Italians hide in their cupboards?” carried out by Ipsos on behalf of Erion on a sample of 1,400 Italians aged 18 to 75, through the CAWI methodology, Computer Assisted Web Interview.
